Our October newsletter went home last week and the students are very excited about our upcoming Reader's Theatre Poetry Cafe scheduled for Friday, October 28, 2010. A custom made invitation for parents/ guardians will be created by each child and delivered the week of October 18, 2010. Hope to see all parents/ guardians there!
We are celebrating the end of our Forces and Movement Science unit this week. The students will be designing and creating a toy which operates using one or more of the forces studied in class. A rubric outlining the marking scheme will be sent home on October 14, 2010. The unit test is scheduled for Friday, October 22, 2010.
We are "activating our schema" (thining about what we know/think we know) about plants and seeds this week. The grade three students in all classes will be planting tulip bulbs, weeding the native species garden, and collecting plant clippings for compost this Friday. Please have your child dress in clothes that are "soil friendly." Thank you in advance for your continued support and cooperation.
